IRENA
Having worked on the initial Design & Deployment of the IRENA Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Enterprise Voice infrastructure, IDC were awarded the IT Operations Contract to support, manage and operate the IRENA Microsoft Back-Office infrastructure. During the time we have worked with IRENA we have been a key supporter, partner and influencer in the IRENA IT Road Map, driving such initiatives as the Migration of OCS 2007 R2 to Lync Server 2010, Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2010 and implementation of Active Directory Rights Management Services. Masdar
In partnership, and as a co-investor, with Microsoft IDC were instrumental in the Design, Deployment and Migration of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 infrastructure at Masdar to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 SP1 in a highly-available configuration and encompassing a remote disaster recovery site. Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 R2 was also delivered as a part of the project with integration into the existing Cisco Call Manager IP Telephony infrastructure that existed to facilitate Enterprise Voice functionality. Ministry of Health have selected Microsoft Lync Server 2010 as their primary communications tool across the entire UAE. Servicing their 4,000+ users, Microsoft Lync Server 2010 is the core IP Telephony Solution deployed in their environment. IDC provided their services to Ministry of Health, working closely together to come up with the correct infrastructure design and sizing as well as hardware selection to meet the diverse requirements of such a distributed organization. Today MOH users are able to work from any internet enabled location should they have their corporate computer with full IP Telephony and corporate address book functionality and no need for any VPN solution.

IDC were instrumental in the design and architecture of the Mubadala New Information Technology Infrastructure based on a redundant datacenter infrastructure across 3 different locations in an Active / Active / Active configuration of the entire Microsoft stack of Applications. IDC have worked extensively with the IT and Business Teams at Yahsat to define, design and build an enterprise class IT Infrastructure based on the next generation of technologies to be able to take the business into the next phase of operations. Encompassing technologies such as Active Directory 2008 R2 SP1, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft Lync 2010, SharePoint Portal Server 2010, NET UX Media Gateways, NET SmartSIP, Forefront Identity Manager 2010 and more, the entire project was designed, deployed and migrated by IDC without any disruption to production services whatsoever. Moreover, Yahsat now have a fully integrated and flexible communications infrastructure allowing them to use either Microsoft Lync 2010 or Cisco Call Manager and even register the existing Cisco Telephones with their Lync Server Infrastructure. A custom Microsoft Lync Application has also been developed for the Yahsat Satellite Operations Center that is aimed at supporting their operational communications requirements.

In addition, IDC were able to integrate Wireless SIP Telephones from Polycom using NET SmartSIP technology to register the devices with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and provide integrated presence. Specialized Call Recording and Call Billing solutions were also implemented in Ferrari World in order to ensure that they are able to meet their compliance and financial KPIs in a measurable format.
